Reto Gribi

Gribi Reto Hobby

certified public accountant

After my business training at the Nabholz AG clothing company in Schönenwerd, I was able to continue working at Nabholz AG/Lahco AG during my two-year time in the military where I earned the rank of lieutenant. During this time, I gained valuable experience in the areas of management accounting, financial accounting, and information technology and afterwards was a member of management for around one year as a commercial manager. In this time, I determined that I was missing the necessary theoretical knowledge for a successful career.

Since numbers and logic are my world, it was clear to me that I wanted more education in that area. In 1989, I decided to accept a job at Adr. Sudan AG für Revision und Steuerberatung in Olten (Solidis Revisions AG today) as an audit assistant with the goal of continuing education to become a certified accountant. In 1992, I passed the examination to be certified in business services and received a federal diploma of higher education. Then, two years later, I passed the CPA examination.

I have been a partner since 1994 and have made an active contribution to further developing our firm for the benefit of our clients. The spice of life in my work is the daily contact with our clients and their varying needs and problems. This turns supposedly boring “bean counting” into an extremely interesting job with a lot of variety, challenges, and a constantly changing cast of people to contact.

For a number of years, I have been a certified 9-levels trainer and advisor for value-oriented management. This scientifically based analysis tool enables me to understand the inner values of my clients and help them reach their goals.

My broad spectrum of practical experience and business knowledge combined with my open, communicative personality help me with my other pursuits as a board of directors member, foundation board member, speaker and lecturer.

My wife and I spend our leisure time with our two dogs and four cats either in our house in Lostorf or in Arosa doing garden work, taking walks and hikes, or having philosophical conversations. As a member of the Olten Rotary Club and various non-profit organizations, I make an active contribution to the common good. I am still very enthusiastic about sports, but now I take it a little easier after many years of competitive sports including Alpine skiing, volleyball and soccer, which I sometimes played at a very high level. I spend part of my leisure time skiing, telemark skiing, golfing, biking, and doing fitness training.
